(NASDAQ:RJET - News), announced today that it has amended its airline services agreement with United Airlines to provide an additional five 70-seat Embraer 170's. This amendment brings the total number of 170's to be operated in the United Express program to 28 aircraft, including two spares.

"We are very pleased to expand our relationship with United Airlines with the addition of these five Embraer 170's," said Bryan Bedford, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Republic Airways Holdings. The five additional aircraft are scheduled to be in passenger service by December 31, 2005 beginning with one aircraft in September. The amended agreement with United also calls for the removal of two 50-seat Embraer 145 aircraft currently operating as United Express. These aircraft will be removed from United Express service and added to Republic's charter operations beginning November 1, 2005.

Republic Airways to Purchase Embraer 170 Aircraft, Slots and Other Assets from US Airways
Thursday June 23, 4:40 pm ET

INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 2005--Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:RJET - News), announced today that it will proceed with plans to purchase 28 Embraer 170's and other assets from US Airways for approximately $100 million.

Republic Airways announced in March 2005 a three-part agreement with US Airways that (1) amended its existing code-share agreement, (2) allowed Republic to purchase certain assets, and (3) allowed, under certain conditions, Republic to become an equity investor in the US Airways Chapter 11 restructuring. Since that time, the US Airways-America West merger has been announced, the US Airways business plan has changed, and other equity participants have committed to invest in the merged companies. Republic received notification today that US Airways has elected not to request Republic to invest in the reorganization and merger, but has exercised its option to proceed with the asset sales.

Accordingly, Republic will purchase ten aircraft and assume the leases of an additional 18 Embraer 170 aircraft and will operate them in the US Airways network under a previously negotiated regional jet service agreement that has been approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Republic Airways will also purchase, and then lease back to US Airways, 113 commuter slots at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and 24 commuter slots at New York LaGuardia Airport. Other assets to be acquired include a flight simulator, spare parts, and certain facilities to support the aircraft operations. The purchase of assets is expected to close on or before July 31, 2005.

Republic expects to take delivery of the first Embraer 170 late this summer after its Republic Airline subsidiary receives its operating certificate. Until such time, US Airways will lease back the aircraft from Republic. Republic expects to complete the transition by mid-2006.

US Airways will have the right to repurchase the slots. US Airways and Republic remain in discussions about additional 70 and 90-seat regional jets that might be added to the US Airways Express fleet in future years.

"Republic Airways looks forward to its expanded role with US Airways. The addition of the Embraer 170's under the US Airways Express brand is a very positive development for our employees and shareholders," said Bryan Bedford, Chairman, President and CEO of Republic Airways Holdings.

"Folks, welcome aboard Chautauqua, United Express flight 7354 service to Chicago. You'll be happy to know that not only has the aircraft you're flying on been built by parts from the lowest bidder, but now your pilots also have been outsourced to the lowest bidder. Sit back and enjoy the ride."

i would change that from welcome aboard Chautauqua to welcome aboard Shuttle America.......

The few people on here that represent the 3% out there who hate their lives so much, that coming on here bashing others makes them feel better, well, I think you're just sad.

It can change at the drop of a hat, so knock wood, and best of luck to everyone here @ Republic and everyone else out there. It's gonna be an interesting ride for the next 2 years.

T-Hawk

P.S. For a piece of equipment by the lowest bidder, it looks to be a hell of a nice airplane. For what they're made to do, the Embraer line has done quite well, and held up quite well for years and years. Wanna make fun of their products?
Expressjet has based their ENTIRE operation on the Jungle Jet, Comair was interested in 170's...they seem to be a big hit in Europe.

There's always gonna be someone jealous enough to b&tch...otherwise, why say anything? Get a life.

Don't make too much sense. You wouldn't want these tools of management to be forced to reason. Same team guys, we all keep at each other's throats, the descent will continue. But what do I know.

I just looked at F/O rates for Eagle, Mesaba, COEX...and CHQ

All three has approx. the same pay scales...so please don't single out CHQ.

Good call House...

Don't forget Mesa, TSA, Pinnacle, PSA....

Not too far apart. But just think about how much better you feel about yourself after bashing one group of people you don't know for a little while online.
