Greetings,
Im a dumba$$ and need to obtain a replacement thru the FAA. Does anyone have any idea how long they take to get you your copy????

I hope its not as long as it takes to get a new certificate..........

Thanks in advance for any who now......

They can fax it to you in under an hour if you call your local FSDO.

The application for replacement from the FAA says they wont FAX......Is this OKC saying this or will a FSDO indeed FAX it????

If so, what FSDO do you call, the one nearest where you took the test or the one closest to your address where you currently live????

I had mine faxed from the DPA FSDO. Call tomorrow.

Sorry to be brash, but that doesnt answer either of my questions....Would that be the FSDO near where you live or the FSDO nearest where you took the test??? I know that DPA is DuPage, but thats it.....

I dont know, I got my from DPA, but that is because of where I worked. I got my license at SIU. So I dont know.

Just tell your roommate to keep looking for it and don't be so forgetful in the future...sheesh.

Thats funny, I remember where you live......sleep with one eye open pal.
Thanks for the smart a$$ response there Ginz......;-)

i dpn't know how siu got it from a fsdo, unless the dpa fsdo called okc and got it for him. I know someone that had to retreive a copy and they got it from okc. also, if it has expired you wont be able to get a copy of it from anywhere. you'll need to take it again.

The FSDO where you took the test should be your first point of contact. After that (and who they'll likely refer you to), call OKC. Since it's electronic, they'll be able to send you a copy....Costs about 15 bucks (2 years ago), and takes about 2 weeks. Good luck.
