I'm looking for an inexpensive single-engine aircraft to rent in the DFW area (preferably up North). I'm also looking for a freelance instructor to do some recurrent training (BFR & instrument practise). Anyone have a recommendation or lead?

I've looked into some of the flight schools in Addison and Mckinney. I just don't want to pay $100/hr. for a C172 if I can help it. I'd also rather pay an instructor cash and let him keep it all, rather than let the flight school take half.

Thanks in advance.

You've got that right. I was just hoping for something less than the $100/hr C172s that I've found so far. Surely there's someone out there with a C152 or something similiar for $70-80/hr. Maybe someone who owns their own plane that's looking to make some cash....

Being an aircraft owner myself don't think you will find what your looking for in a 172 maybe a 150 I know the price varies I think a 150 rents for $65.00 to $80.00 an hour here in Portland, OR Area .
