I am moving to Greensboro, NC to live in my base. Any input on areas to avoid, to look for etc...

Also, on a related topic, I am going to move myself, but have accumulated more than I am able to do alone. I want to avoid moving companies, so I am looking to hire day labor to help with the loading. Any thoughts?

If you go on the Uhaul website, they should have links to find helpers. Very reasonably priced too. I've done it once, and based on that experience, I'd recommend it. I don't remember exactly how I found it, but you might want to try moving.com or something like that.

Highpoint is a pretty nice area. Theres some nice apts around there with joggin trails, creeks etc.

Your rent dollar goes MUCH further outside the city limits of GSO, High Point, or Kernersville. You'd be surprised what you can find within 30 minutes of GSO for the $$$.

About helpers ... I happen to know a poor aspiring commercial pilot who'd be glad to help on the unloading end for a couple bucks. His broke @ss also works for flight time if you happen to own a small aircraft. :D

Welcome to the neighborhood! :)

Squeal like pig, boy!!!

You go 30 minutes outside of any metroploitan area or "city" in the South (I know because I live in ATL) you are in Delierance Country!!!

The faint twang of the dualing banjos can be heard during sunset if you listen reeel haard.

Welcome to Dixie, y'all

pm me, I am a corporate pilot here in GSO and grew up here. Plenty of CFI's will help you move.

there's alot of apartments down west market st. runs parallel to runway 14/32. young urban professionala etc.

also, a growing area with plenty of new housing is down highway 68 towards high point. it goes under I-40 and becomes east chester road in high point.

easy access from both places. 5 minutes drive to terminal.
