Is the trend of hiring going to continue throughout 2004 with the airlines hiring right now or will this slow down?

My guess is it will go for a while and then slow down.

The hiring now is coming from regional growth (expansion) and not pilots moving up the ladder. If or when majors start hiring, it will really be moving. I know Southwest and ATA are hiring but it will be a long time before the big 4 start adding to their lists.

What's happening now is managements trying to cash in on regional flying because it is cheaper. That may continue for a while but these companies can only get so big.

The good news is that there are more jobs but the bad news is once you get hired you won't be moving up much any time soon.
