had a quick question about regional airlines flying cargo....

Regional airlines have agreements with their major airline to fly people from point A to B for a set price. Does that also include anything in the cargo bin as well? For example, if Comair fills up the back of an RJ with packages/mail/etc, in addition to passenger bags.....does Delta get that revenue or is that Comair's to keep?

Just curious

It depends on the agreement between the Major and the "Regional." I know XJT does not see a dime of profit from cargo or quickpac!!!

While it all depends on the contract, I'd bet the mainline would get all the profit from cargo. USAirways seems to put a lot more cargo on our flights than American on the Connection side of our operations. I would think that airlines would try transport more cargo, but what do I know- I just drive the plane.

Your post specifically refers to Comair. Comair is OWNED by Delta. It cannot have any "profits" for itself. Who would get the profit? The stock holders? Sorry, there are no stockholders of Comair. Delta owns it all, lock, stock, and barrel. Any profit (or loss) generated by Comair goes directly to Delta's P & L statement, down to the bottom line. That would include profit generated from cargo, or any source.
