Wanted to pick your brains out there:

Do companies ever pay for recurrency for a part time contract pilot recurrency? Any leads as to who may be doing this around CA? I'm up in a few months and it sure would be nice to work something out for school.

Thanks,
J

You are not very specific with the type of equiptment that you fly, however, if it is big iron you might want to give TAG a shout. They have been known to help out with reccurent in exhange for reliable contractors that they can count on.

Good luck.

Thanks G100. It's for the G-1159 (G2/G3) coming up in August. I can do contracts every weekend and holidays plus 1 week straight every month.

Good luck. I don't know of many operators who will pay for school in that situation, although it happens once in a while. There are some operators who might give you a checkride in the airplane, though, if you are doing a reasonable amount of work for them.

Most of the operators I know who pay for school for a contractor expect that person to be available on a more or less full time basis, or at least with a first right of refusal.
