I recently got my commercial ticket and I was planning to become a CFI to build my hours for the regionals. Just wondering what some good books are that will help me with the 6hr verbal exam and as a CFI. My friend lent me the ASA test prep, but this pretty much just covers the 2 writtens you have to take. So, I've got that covered at least. Thanks!

FAA publications and Advisory Circulars.

Flying Handbook
Instrument Flying Handbook.

Fundamentals of Instruction is the only TASK/subject that is not also part of
CPL or PPL PTS, so you'll be fine if you know all your stuff from CPL with a higher level of understanding, and ability to teach it.

ASA CFI Oral Exam Guide and Edwin Quinlan's Flight Instructors Lesson Plan Handbook worked for me. Those are the only books I used, what with all the multimedia stuff out there now. I'm using them again for reinstatement.
