Re: letter from Kalitta Air (?)

I just got a letter from Kaltta Air (Thank you for your inquiry.....your resume has been placed in our active file......) If there is anyone who has the same letter or hired or interviewed recently with Kalitta? Does this means thanks, but no thanks or there is still some hope?
Thanks for any help with this.

When did you apply? I sent my resume to them about 1 1/2 months ago and just got the same letter today. I'm thinking it might just be like you said, a "thanks but no thanks" kind of thing. Anyone that's been hired or interviewed at Kalitta have any insight?

Yep.. I got one today too. I think you have to have to go to a job seminar in Miami if you want to get with Kalitta.

I think that the seminar in Miami is bogus, I've heard it is a joke and the airlines don't even show up.

I would put a coat and tie on and walk in to the hangar at Willow IF you have some turbojet PIC time, I think that is the key to not getting the letter, cause I got one too and I don't have any tjet PIC, trying to fix that problem right now.

Keep your chin up guys..

To my knowledge many people who work at Kalitta have recieved that same letter. Don't be discouraged so easily. There will most likely be a good deal of hiring yet this year, so by all means keep in the game. Good luck to those of you applying!

Got the letter also..... walked in and met with hagquist and personally delivered my resume about 3 weeks ago, Well... apart from bugging them every 100 hours not much else to do at this point.

Kalitta had a problem with their computers and they are just sending out letters to let everyone know that their resumes were received.

The March 6th class had 3 no-shows out of 16 FO's. They will be interviewing in late April or early May for the June class.

If you want an interview I would call and let them know or send them an email. Let them know that you are very interested in working for Kalitta and would like an interview.

I've worked for Kalitta Air for 4 years in the 90's and will be completeing my first year on April 29th. Quit Kalitta in 98 to accept my recall to USAirways, big mistake looking back, but all in all I like working for Connie.

I like the B747, the international routes and great layovers, EHAM, PANC, HKG, PHNL, LAX to name a few. Yes, the 17 days are tough at times, but the time passes quickly.

Flyer74,

You're welcome and good luck.

You should get an interview with 6500 hours.

Let them know you are interested. Call the CP or ask for training and talk to Betty or Rebecca. Or send an email, they should respond and believe me they are looking for pilots, 3 no-shows last class.

The simulators are already booked through the year for 5 classes, the second class of the year began March 6th and another one is planned for early June.

Interviewing will begin again soon. It's a straight forward interview and sim check in Denver. Maybe MSP, but last time it was in DEN.

You will enjoy the experience flying the B747 around the world.

Kalitta Letter!

I got the same "Receipt of Resume" & blah blah blah letter.

Any idea when you get called? Has anybody gotten called?

Or is that Thanks but no thanks kinda stuff!

Thanks

Hey Vspeeds,

I got the same letter back in March/April. I went to www.kalittaair.com, got the chief pilot's email, and emailed him directly with my resume as an attachment, and the called in the next 2 days. Interview was 1.5 weeks later, and I start school on Mon. In the email I let him know that I was still very interested in working there, and it seemed to do the trick. Good luck!
