that was awesome! It has landing lights and an anti-collision light!! At the end of the flight you can see that the gear on the right wing-tip failed to extend or was missing. Probably 10's of thousands of dollars right there...

The only thing I could think of watching that was " I hope Al Qaueda hasn't seen this thing" do you need a liscence or some kind of permit for that thing? At Least flying and building that thing is more diificult than usinfgreal planes. At least the building part is.

And i thought my Zagi was cool. Au contrere.

A Cessna 172 would be easier to obtain, could hold a much larger payload and would be easier to fly than this thing... Just because it looks like a mini-war machine doesn't mean it is one...

I'm disappointed. Go to all that trouble to build a B52 and the engines don't shoot out black smoke.

that guy's probably a Democrat, because they are big into being scared of scary looking objects and banning things they think people shouldn't have.

LOL! That's what I was thinking!
Where's the pollution?

minus 5 points for realism.

There is less the a handfull of people who fly these Large R/C jets around the world, they all know each other due too it been a very close community and to be able to fly one of these jets takes many years (i know becuase i fly R/C jets for a hobby).

Its easier said than done ......

Do they sport real miniature turbine engines...?
If so, what is the fuel, the RPM and the cost?

yeah but + 5 POINTS for the noise! Man even at idle that thing was loud. I'd love to know how much thrust those lil jets put out.

Another + 5 POINTS for takeoff roll, he used more runway than a 172 for takeoff!

I didn't watch the whole thing to see him land.

Jesus! Is this the same group who did the C-17?

BTW ... what kind of tiny turbines are they using? Sounds quite awesome.

Enough for you to be able to poewr an ultralight with 2 of them!

My buddy has one. Yep, it is a real turbine engine. Burns a mix of Jet-A and 2380. I don't know what he paid for it, but it puts out about 16 pounds of thrust at a little over 100,000 rpm (that's no typo). Push-button start and everything, even a computer that measures RPM, egt, etc... He has it in a trainer, but he has an F-16 he's going to put it in when he gets proficient with the trainer.

There's a guy who owns an aircraft cleaning service at the Teterboro airport who has a twin-turbine RC MiG-29. It has everything the real ones have - except for the missles. Even the louvers over the intakes work. He said he has over $22K invested in it.

I flew with a guy a few weeks ago who was big into RC (so was I back in the day) and he said to get into an entry level turbine engine RC you would probably spend at least $3000 and likely far more than that depending on how you set it up. Looks like fun but I think i'll just go rent that 172 instead...

Jeez, does he need a type rating to fly that thing? Looks like it may be over 12,500! Awsome.TC

Crashed

Found out over the weekend that R/C B-52 Crashed over the weekend in the UK. it went on fire after, so i can only assume there was not much left. I have a Link to view a video of it if anyone is interested.

I feel for the builders as alot of time and of course $$ put into the project.
