Raytheon has reached an all new low.

Now that they own Flight Options 100% again, they have elected not to do business with their own maintenance shops because they are to expensive. They are even closing their own Raytheon / Flight options dedicated shops.

If they cant afford themselves, how do they think we are supposed to tell our owners that we should do maintenance there? I think Raytheon management and Delta management should do lunch. Maybe they can hold a stupid management contest.

Everytime I have been to Houston or San Antonio the hanger is always full of Flight Option planes, guess more tech's will be looking for work soon.

I do not think RAS maintenance is all that great and they are absurd with their parts pricing. I have used HOU,SAT and ICT and I do not have the time to tell you all the problems with SAT and ICT after getting the plane out of inspections. HOU did a windshield change recently and the new sealer around the window looked like a 5 year old smeared it on.
I have found an independant shop in the Dallas area (close to home)that does quite a bit of Beechjet/Diamond work and one of the owners has been involved with the plane since the early Diamond days. They have been very fair on pricing, even getting Raytheon to sell us a new bleed air valve at the cost of an O/H'd one because none of the O/H'd ones were going to be available for several days. Plus they bend over backwards to meet our schedule.

Yep, the lay off's already started at fty. Options pulled out approx. 2 weeks ago.

I have very good service and reliability out of the FTY shop, but I only allow certian crew leads. They always bend over backwards to meet my schedule, and in 6 years of driving Beechjets, they have never given me mine back with a squawk. Again though, at FTY it is VERY important to pick the right crew leads. I am based there, so it also saves on the repo $$$.

I have also had very good luck making RAPID match other vendors parts pricing. They started that a year or two ago. The avionics shop there is second to none. if "ROCK" cant fix it... forget it.

I have had bad experienes at IND and TPA.
