Do any of you file your own random routes across the North Atlantic or do you generally use the NAT tracks? How do you file when passing 30 W after the tracks have changed from westbound to eastbound or vice versa? Do any of you use A699 and A700? Thank you for your input.
It depends on your altitude, but if your above the NAT system file random and optimize for winds and "Press On", doesnt matter once your in the system whether the track system changes from east to west flow. If your altitude precludes you from getting above the tracks and your going against the flow you may still get a good random route but if your going with the flow then chances are you have no choice but to use the NAT system and file a track.
