Many have been asking about a interview prep service at Randolph AFB. The "Randolph lady" is Fae Simmons. I learned a lot from her while preparing for my SWA interview back in the summer of 2000.

There are many sources for this one. This depends solely on you. Some folks are much better conversationalist than others. Others, (like myself) need a little jumpstart. Sometimes just practicing with a bud or wife is plenty. However, most of us would like to get at least a cursory evaluation by a professional.

Big picture--What did they say your weak points are? What do you need to improve on? (Eye contact, disjointed stories, talk too fast, no smile, poor body language, etc.) Dismiss the minutia. A great tool prior to the prep is to get a video recorder and have your spouse or friend ask you some questions. Watch the tape--you'll see right away if you have any major presentation problems. Fae Simmons will video you as well. Bring a tape with you.

FAE SIMMONS is a FREE service provided by the USAF. She was very good. I could have sworn that she was a retired Captain, or HR person. It turns out neither, just someone who enjoys the industry. (And she knows it VERY well)

Many bases (open to all active duty services) have pooled money together to fly her in for a weekend, so all can benefit. Besides...a SWA ticket from SAT to ?? is peanuts! ;)

DISCLAIMER: This lady is NOT my Grandma, my mother-in-law, or my love kitten. She did however prepare me well for "the BIG DAY in DAL" without rehersing.
