Regarding the FCC online application for Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit (RP):

- I have proceeded to Form 605/Electronic Filing

- Log in with FRN accomplished

- Apply for new license selected

- "SELECT SERVICE"

This is my problem area...do I want AC? AF?

What choice is correct on that screen and any other tips for the multi-page form is requested also

maybe a stupid question, but I cant be the first one frustrated by this

THANKS

(RR) Restricted Operator

I too was frustrated. But I figured it out and got the thing in the mail about six days later.

You guys still need that thing?? We (QX) fly back and forth to Canada every day and we don't need one.

yeah I, when the java script ever decides to load, I am slitting my wrists trying to fill out the form

It took me a little bit to figure it out. I got mine like 4 days later. I would recomend to print your aplication in case of any problems.
I think that was the biggest waist of money I have ever spent. They dont even ask you for your lic. number. I had to get mine in order to apply for a company.
P.S. and dont lose it or you will have to waist another $50.

I had the same experience with the javascripts they (the FCC) use. Finally, after trying and waiting several times, I sat down at a friends computer with Windows XP and was done in 5 minutes.

tip

I lost mine, but had a backup photocopy. I called the FCC. They said they switched computer systems and no longer had old licenses on file. The lady said that if I could fax her a copy of my lost RTOP (my backup copy), she could enter it into the new database and then I could get another. Well, I faxed it and within an hour, she called me. VERY helpful - much to my surprise. She talked me through all the details online while on the phone.

HERE IS A BIG KEY: She said since we were updating my address, which was different than the address on my backup photocopy, she would process it as an address update and not a lost license. There would be NO FEE! She said the new license is in the mail!

I expected pain and red tape. Very surprised.
