Since I'm hoping to join you in March or April (knock on wood), I've got a few questions that you guys should be qualified to answer soon. Some have been discussed before but not sure if old info is still good, etc. And maybe some will be better answered in a few weeks once everyone is more into the groove of new hire training.

1 - do you think it is worth it to drive a car or better to suffer the hotel van or bumming from classmates?
(from Florida I'm looking at 1100 miles and 18 hours )

2 - Any talk of Pansmith cards getting updated with the rumored new procedures? I haven't bought them yet and now am sort of holding off hoping they'll get updated (if they even would need to be, I have no idea what they cover or what the new procedures might change, or what the current procedures are for that matter)

3 - any general tips about something you didn't think about and wish you had prior to showing up for class? (like bringing current health insurance info to help pick a SWA plan or buying an Office Max cheapo bag for Jepps/manuals on the first day)

1. I really enjoyed having my car in Dallas although it wasn't really necessary. (I drove from DTW) I wish it was possible to find out who your training partner is so you could see if he/she was going to drive. (maybe if your nice, really nice, Lindsey will tell you)

2. John's cards don't contain flows and checklist stuff. Just memory items, limitations, and systems stuff. Since I got my cards last Jan, I think I have had to change maybe 4 of them.
I don't think that the new procedures will change his cards that much. (but what do I know)
The things that do change, you can just scratch up your own new cards. I am a note card guy and I really like the Pass cards.

thanks for the info. I just realized that I posted on the regionals board, wasn't careful where I pulled my 'post new thread button' from. oops. I'm not a smart man, Jenny. So no offense to Regional guys or SWA, but I probably should have put it under Majors. I guess the 'read new posts' habit with no regard to what forum stuff was posted in got me.
