Hiring has slowed. Mostly attrition now. The expansion has met its requirements. Continental is pretty much set in Texas and United is staffed. Lots of rumores about what comes next. Most new hires go to Saab but you never know. We will probably be getting more planes in 2006. Current upgrades are right around a year give or take a few months. Captains are getting hired in other places so that will be steady but will probably slide to 18 months if there is no more major expansion. I am assuming you mean bases in regards to FO's. That changes a lot. People move on or move to new bases or upgrade. So even a senior base can be open in a couple of months. ROC isnt very senior as of right now but the flight time isnt great there. Most junior bases are where the United planes are. Had 3 bases open for that operation. Most senior is CRW, PVD, HEF, ORF, ABE. Colgan is all about day trips. Back at base same night. One crew swap a day per base. USAIR has some better schedules. United doesnt generate enough flights into Dulles so there is a lot of sit time in those schedules. They usually have a reserve line at bases where there is too many pilots but that doesnt last long. Average of about 13 days off a month. I have seen 11 and I have seen 19.
