This might not be the proper spot for this question, sorry. Being 50 years old and a student pilot is there anything someone starting out at my age could do,get paid for flying? Thanks

The short answer is yes. But it will take a lot of dedication and money to get from where you are to a Commercial cert. Some regionals are so desparate for FOs right now that with a Comm/ME and a little time building, they will hire people in their early 50s. The other option is flight instructing. Pay for the Comm and CFI and build some time instructing. Either way, it will take a lot of investment on your part, both $$$$s and time.
Good luck.

you will first have to get your commercial before you can get paid for anything.. After that you will need to build up your time before someone will hire you. Like previously mentioned, it will take a lot of money and a lot of dedication to get it done asap.

Hang in there, you have many good years to fly, your maturity will be an asset!

If you finish your commercial and CFI, you should be able to find a job IMMEDIATELY. There is always room for intelligent, mature flight instructors. Right now there should be a shortage in that area because the airlines are hiring hot and heavy.

Now, if you want to make any real money, that may be a little different story.

Yeah, that - what he said. You can be a teacher. We need mature instructors. And you can get started instructing at 150 hours Total Time as a Sport Pilot instructor if you can find a school that has Light Sport Airplanes.
