Hi Guys/ Gals

I know that after your training and experience as CFIs, at some point
you all will apply for a position as a FO but will it all be regionals??? I know that is where you start but can or is it possible to go from CFI to FO in
corporate flying??? I 've been looking for the TT requirements for FO positions
for corporate pilots but I've come up with nothing...Most regionals will hire
with 750-1500 Hrs TT. But what about corporate flying? Is it something less desirable? How different is corporate from Regionals??

I know a few CFIs who went to an ondemand charter company flyer the Lear down in Florida.

It can be done, but you really need to know somebody most of the time, to get in with a company that has a corporate department.

Fractionals mins are a little higher, NetJets mins are 2500TT I think...but competitive is above that, and those jobs mostly (I think) go to pilots with lots of real world experience..whether it be regionals, majors, cargo, 135, etc...

There is absolutely no requirement to go to the regionals if you don't want to. Once you get 1200 hours you're eligible for Part 135 IFR, and I would imagine (could be way-off so take it for what it's worth) that getting a charter job would be a good step after CFI if you don't want to go to the regionals. Charter to corporate would probably be easier than CFI to corporate.

Best advice, as you get higher in hours go start knocking on doors and introducing yourself to operators you may want to work for in the future.

I second all of the above. Freight is always an option for you. Competitive for corp is 5000 hrs or a relative

Keep your options open. You don't want to paint yourself into a corner. I'm at 850TT and hoping for a 91 gig right now. Just a few guys I met who are buying a turbo prop. Insurance requires 3,000TT so I'm working with them on that. I say shoot for the regionals and open as many doors as you see on the way. I personally don't want to go Regional because of the pay problem. Something about paying their Captain and FO less $100/hr collectively really gets to me. However, I won't get Turbine PIC as a CFI.

If you're open, there are a lot of opportunity's out there.
