Hey guys, I'm currently flying a 208 for one of the FDX feeders: thinking about a move to MAC or Empire for the ATR/F-27 (I think flying the old Troopship would be a real hoot).

Question: Anyone know if I'd retain my Caravan pay in such a move? I know that at one time there was an arrangement whereby you could take your 208 payscale to the right seat of the Fokker.

It'd be nice to get back into multi-crew, part 121, ect. ATR or Fokker. Thanks in advance for any replies.

The usual movement over at MAC was right seat F-27, then the Caravan, then left seat F-27. I don't know of any Caravan drivers that came over to the right seat- the few that finally made it over went to the left seat.

If you're working for another company (not Empire or MAC) I would highly doubt that you'd keep your current payscale if you move to the right seat. Of course, if you move to the left seat you'd probably get a raise. If you're already over at MAC or Empire (and from the sound of your post, I don't think that's the case), it might be possible to keep your payscale, but again, I highly doubt it. You're moving down on the ladder of progression there. (For the right seat, of course)

Empire does'nt roll caravan pay over to the right seat of the 121 program. They do keep the time in service with the company for pay reasons. So you won't have to start out as a new hire FO in the 121 side. The probationary pay is waved also.

I started out in the Caravans and rolled over to the F's so I never started out at the bottom of the F payscale. I think that Empire would probably roll feeder time in service over, or at least they do in the Caravan, and I hear that for some reason are having trouble finding FO's.

Thanks for the info.

I have a fair amount of time in similar sized aircraft to the Fokker/ATR, so as you might guess, I sort of miss that kind of flying. I like the night flying and tend to be nocturnal by nature (like a vampire bat) so I think I'd be a good fit. Also, I gather (from another thread) that some of you guys like to go down to the old watering hole after a long week on the road, and get your ration of munchies and beer. That, of course, is completely in line with my routine/philosophy as well.

One more Q: Fokkers&Beer mentioned that they honor time in service when going from Van to Fokker- any idea what that'd net me with about 3 years time in the Feeders? or in other words, approx take home pay as a 3rd year FO (including ave per diem, ect)? I'm just trying to do a rough budget to see how I'd fare.

Any info would be appreciated.

Us? Beer? We NEVER touch the stuff!

I myself, have been known to have indulged in Satans nectar more than once after a day in the lil' Fokker. As for time in service, call the HR department and ask them. We have a new HR lady and I'm not sure what her name is and what the answer would be. You can get the number off the web site. I know we are still looking for F/O's.

And as for ATR Capt, I can let you hear his last voice mail from JNU, it sounds like he just got back from a church ice cream social.

nicely played!

Hey, I'm interested in a F/O slot at Empire. I've got a few hundred hours in the caravan, but I would take either position. Just curious what starting pay is for first year F/O's, where they're based, routes, rons, etc. Any info would be great.
