With the elimination of DFW as a base, I am interested in finding out what sort of timeline does Eagle have from application - interview - class-date. I understand that I may not be based in DFW right away if I am lucky enough to get a job with Eagle, but with ASA I will NEVER be based in DFW after 2/1/05.

Thanks you the information.

Expect a very quick interview, with a class date within maybe two weeks.

Re: leaving ASA for Eagle

I don't really understand why everyone seems to feel ASA is so great compared to Eagle. I've been at both (though at ASA only a very short time and at Eagle before 9-11 and flowbacks, etc.) and I gotta tell ya I think I prefer Eagle for the most part. So I just reapplied.

FYI

Just to warn you, don't expect to upgrade anytime soon. Flowbacks are taking the lionshare of the vacancies. Saab LAX is the most junior upgrade at 5 years.

good luck

As fast as they can get your warm body in the seat!

When I interviewed in mid-august, the pilot recruiting folks were talking about having gotten rid of the backlog of applications. Fastest possible: Complete the airlineapps.com thing, get a call within a couple of business days for an interview 3-5 biz days out, probably. If successful, expect them to offer you the very next classdate after your "available date". Classes still running every other Monday.

Eagle is having a really difficult time getting people to show for class, stay all the way through training, or stay on the line for any length of time. If the flowbacks weren't here it would be a full fledged staffing crisis. Short staffing has spread to just about all fleets/bases it looks like. Bid just about any airplane in DFW and I'll bet bottom dollar you could be based here in not more than 2 vacancy bids, if not right out of class.

PM me, and I'll hook you up with any other info you might want to know.

Sorry to hear about your situation. You will certainly get some more diverse aircraft experience - maybe add EMB-Jet time to your already diverse flying background. Good luck with your situation.

Also hopefully with AA increasing its flying by 10% in DFW and maybe more now that Delta is pulling out. They will have to recall some pilots. If this happens Eagle will need more then 100 CA overnight. I hope they start early and dont get us into a staffing problem like last time.

Class Dates

I applied with Eagle Two weeks ago through airline apps and they notified me last Friday that I was selected for an interview. I am scheduled at the end of this month.
My current employer is trying to convince me that if I tell Eagle I cannot start class until November or early Dec. due to "work comittments" then it is a noble thing to do and Eagle will respect that, however I have not interviewed yet, but am fairly confident and spend about 3 hrs a day studying. My thought is to take the first class possible after giving my current employer 2 to 3 weeks of notice. That's fair enough if you ask me. However there is always the possibility of washing out of the interview??

I called Greg B. yesterday afternoon, and set up an interview for the 5th of October. First week in October is what he's scheduling now.
