While jumpseating on an AWA flight one of your pilots told me that somewhere in PHX an AWA pilot runs a simulator session that basically covers the sim ride at the AWA interview. My question is do any of you know where I can get more info?

Also, is there an AWA interview prep out there?

Has anyone recently interviewed there?

A couple of AWA pilots are also instructors at K&S, who offer sim-preps in the same sim AWA uses for interview sim evals. For more info, their number is 602-454-1400.

Cheers and best of luck!

I did my 37 type in the PHX -200 sim with an AWA check airman. Really great guy but that sim leaves allot to be desired :)

That's putting it politely! If you did your type in AWA's -200 sim, it was likely the SP77. That atrocity has been in a crate in the corner since they moved to the new flight center. AWA currently uses the other -200 sim during interviews and line pilot PT's. Talk about character building . . . I think the old 77 sim flew better than the 177 does, but the 177's instruments are far better for doing "the weave."

Cheers!

Thanks for the info. I called K&S and they gave me all the information concerning the AWA interview prep.
