Hi folks,

I was wondering if one was interested in doing the 200hr pro course, what time of year would you all suggest for a start date considering the following:

1.) Weather delays(e.g- Summer thunderstorms)
2.) Busiest period of the year with the highest enrollment of students(I would like to avoid this time for scheduling reasons)
3.)Availability of examiners for checkrides and stage checks(especially for CFI-CFII-MEI, as I was of the impression that this is the most time consuming stage).

Assume you are talking about a motivated student who is proactively working towards a 5-6 month timeframe from start to completion.

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

I've never been to Ariben, but having been a student and instructor in Florida, just a few clicks north of Forth Pierce:-

1) Weather delays: best time of year for good weather: the last months before christmas. Good time for private pilot training. During summer there's the thunderstorms, and during spring there can sometimes be coastal fog, especially in the morning.

2) Right after everyone gets back from summer vacations....August-September was busy season for new students where I was.

3) This tended to be a problem at the school I was at, my students sometimes waiting up to two weeks for in-house stage checks, due to both lack of availability of stage check instructor, and flight training department's lack of oversight and competent scheduling personell. Don't know about Ari Ben though...but everyone is hurting for experienced instructors these days.

Good luck!

Try ATP, you could be done in as little as 3 months not more than 4. Plus you don't have to worry about examiners, scheduling, and broken planes.
