thats the million dollar question?? let me know when you figure it out

according to CEO in 1st quarter conference call, if XJT keeps everyone of the aircraft, it is fine with CHQ... he said it will have no affect on the agreement.

Most likely the 145 for fleet commonality.

Maybe some from other parts of the world (think EPs, MPs) or some from their ever shrinking Delta Connection 145 ops.

It sounded like it would not be very likely XJT keeps those airplanes.

I've heard that this is where Comair comes in to play!

Except that Comair has CRJs and not E145s.

And how would the RJET CEO know this? Don't you think XJT is keeping its business plan under pretty tight cover at the moment? I don't see XJT giving any airplanes back to CAL...that's just my guess however.

How long do you think until CoEx management comes to the pilots asking to take paycuts so you can be more competitive with other regionals?

Seems like they would've already done that. 25% of the CAL flying is already gone. I doubt we'll be able to salvage the rest of it just by signing up to work for CHQ or less. There's really no point in taking a paycut unless management comes forward with a very good incentive for it....and they haven't done that yet.

If XJT keeps the 69 aircraft announced here in 2006, can CAL give CHQ 69 next year if XJT doesn't use its first rights on those airplanes? And 69 the following year? And 69 the next?

Given that they haven't asked yet, I don't see them asking any time in the near to mid future. Once again, just my uneducated guess. The pilots of XJT would have had to work for free in order to achieve the savings that CAL is probably realizing by using CHQ for this possible 69 aircraft operation with CAL.

Not per the CPA, no.

Even the infamous IAH "jetlinkin' " guy got in on what was up the other day, he said we were to "follow a Shaniqua....errr....I mean a company pencil jet to JEPNI," it was a good laugh.

I wasn't thinking for CAL, I was thinking for another codeshare for the 69 aircraft. Also what does the pilot group think about these aircraft going overseas (or to Mexico)? I don't think it will be possible for ExpressJet to score a US codeshare for these.

I wonder what human factors nerd/the most delusional XJT pilot on the seniority list LRDRVR is thinking of all this.

I think I speak for all of us when I say that, we'd like the Mexican Air Force to get these planes before we see Shaniqua get them.

Amen on that front. It is sad to see another proud regional at a crossroads. All the best to you all from XJT. I wish I had answers for this messed-up profession!

I think I speak for all of us when I say that, we'd like to stay as far away as possible from EWR, CLE and IAH. Let the Mexican Air Force have 'em.

I would like to point this out, and pay careful attention: WE WERE NOT THE LOWEST BIDDER.

Good day and good luck...

Yes, but finding clear thinking XJT pilots on this website to understand that will not happen. Therefore, they will never understand!

Sorry, I don't have the CPA in front of me; this is a one-shot deal then? Does CAL only have this one opportunity to take AC away from XJT, or are there othere avenues in place for them to do it later?

Thanks Neal!

They're called SEC filings!

No, but pretty darn close young man. The only reason Mesa didnt get it is b/c J. Orenstein is not allowed back on CAL property. Better get ready to find your own crew rooms and dont even think about snatching our wi-fi bro.

But seriously, welcome aboard!

I'm well aware of what an SEC filing is, including the 8K's, 10Q's, and 10K's. I have read all of them for CAL, XJT, and RJET. Nowhere in XJT's filings do they discuss forward-looking strategy nor their business plan for the future. Thus, Bryan Bedford has no clue what Jim Ream is going to do with those 69 jets.

Time will tell though...and having just listened to the RJET earnings call, I am scratching my forehead on a lot of what the RJET folks said but hey, that is just me. I'm sure I'm missing something here. I did find it interesting that Bedford made a comment about the CAL deal not reducing his margin...until an analyst called him out on it and he balked and came back and said, "well yes...when we took out fuel and ownership costs and then adjusted the margin for the lack of revenue that the CAL deal brings in...yes our margin is the same." Well which is it? Is the margin taking a hit or not? My guess is that it would...IF...they end up flying any of those 69 jets for CAL.

Well no one on this board has the CPA in front of them because it is a confidential document held very closely by both CAL and XJT. However, many of the pertinent details can be found in XJT's 2005 10K (and their new 10Q should be out soon). CAL cannot remove another 69 airplanes until 12/28/09, per the CPA. That said, with 12 months notice CAL can terminate the agreement but that option comes with a predetermined "wind down" schedule that won't happen overnight obviously.
