Could any UAL or USAirways pilots post, in general terms, what their scope is? Some members of our union are saying things about your scope that I think are incorrect.

Not trying to start any fights people, or argue the merits of thier scope or Deltas scope in the TA. But I do believe our pilots should have the straight story when making their decision and I think some lies are being told as we contemplate this TA.

Could you post it here, or email me? Thanks

US Airways pilots recently voted 57% to basically abolish the scope section in the contract - virutally no protections now. If someone wants to come in and buy our 737's they're gone and our pilots hit the street.

what about outsourcing? How many RJs, and of what kind?

I'll get too depressed if I try to go back and read the details of our scope, but basically our regional affiliates can fly anything up to 70 seats. As far as numbers go, if I'm not mistaken they can fly as many regional jets as we have mainline jets. Our illustrious last Master Chairman made the HUGE mistake of allowing our affiliates to to fly the EMB 170 with 70 seats in it. However, all of the above is subject to change as we are still in bankruptcy for now and management is coming at us for one more "give" before we exit bankruptcy (hopefully) early/mid next year.
