I had a quick question regarding the (10) A380 orders FedEx had placed with Airbus. I know it was a while ago so I was wondering if anything had changed with regard to the order. If not, how will it effect ops and pay? Any FedEx drivers have any thoughts? Just curious.

You're best to post this on the "Majors" board seeing as "Cargo" in the FlightInfo-Message-Board sense of the word means dirty knuckled, sweaty, sleepless, convicted felon, college degree-less, bad mother f*ckers with a positive attitude.... Not manicured, educated, ex-military guys with a really well paying job....

Although some that read and post here might have high aspirations and keep up with that kind of thing... : - )

Sorry I was next to no help!

The order is still on, and FredEx claims that a single A-380 will do the job of two MD-11's. They'll be spread out around the globe.

Pay? Well, they'll pay more than the MD-11, or they won't move. A lot more. Since they'll do the job of two MD-11's....

:)

thats one cargo haulin MoFo.

whats the pay on that -11 anyway? imagine being on that things the last 5 years of your career? (who wants to be a millionaire?)

So I the A380 slated to replace the 11

NO, not at all. There are /will be very few airports capable of handling the A-380, and FedEx is only slated to receive 10. The MD-11 will be around for a long time.

How many pallets can the 380 hold compared to the -11?

Is FedEx planning on running a two deck config, if that is even possible?
