I read on the General Forum that one of the pilots that crashed the 208 for salmon air was named Fred Villinova or something like that. Is that the same guy that flew 99's for ameriflight out of SLC?

Yes that was the Fred.

I never knew him except for a few run-ins at the crew lounge, needless to say those at AMF that knew him are deeply saddend by the loss of a great guy.

I knew Fred from AMF when I TDY'd at SLC a while back, an affable guy indeed.
When did this happen? My condolences to his family.
 
No problem. The guy in the right seat was a friend of a friend.
