when acting as a safety pilot arent you logging PIC time? also you could ferry aircraft (for free of course).

Every 6 months an instrument pilot is required to log 6 approaches, perform holding and execute the intercepting and tracking of radio navigation signals.

In order for someone to gain instrument currency it's common for a pilot to use a safety pilot in lieu of a CFII to accomplish this. The safety pilot has the option to log their time as either PIC or SIC depending upon the agreed upon arrangement. If the safety pilot has been designated as the acting PIC, then they may log any safety pilot time as such. In other words, the entire flight may be logged as PIC. The pilot under the hood may log PIC time as sole manipulator, but only when wearing a view-limiting device. If the pilot under the hood, who usually may pay for the flight time and invite along another pilot to sit as a safety pilot, may elect to be the acting PIC. Since a safety pilot is a required crew member under this arrangement, the safety pilot may log SIC time only when the pilot flying is under the hood. The pilot flying under the hood may log PIC for the entire flight whether under the hood or not if acting PIC.

Tailwheel in as many different types you can do.
Floatplane (ASES)
Aerobatics.
That should cover a lot of time, work, effort, and study. And FUN.

if you read his post he was asking what to do get the to 250. no commerical = no $$

FAA has an interpretation that states that even though a private pilot would not receive money for this type of work, he would receive compensation in the form of flight time and experience. Compensation isn't all about money.

On another note, if you're going to work for free you may as well go a step further and go to Gulf$tream
