Does anyone have information about how a pink slip on a checkride will effect your chances for employment with future companies? Are there pilots out there, you have successfully moved up the ranks with pink slips?

Hmmm. I would think it would be like anything else. During an interview, I would do a good job explaining what happened, why I failed and how I learned from that experience. I have seen, however, on some job applications where they asked if you've ever not passed a checkride. Not all companies ask that question. Best of luck to you.

If you pink slip one or two of your checkrides, not a big deal... but if you make a habit out of pink slipping many rides, it could become a hinderance to you...

Don't worry about it at all; just don't make a habit out of pink slipping.

Most professional pilots take a checkride every 6 months. Over a 30 year career that's at least 60 checkrides, being 58 or 59 out of 60 in the end is about par for the course.

Learn from it and go on.

Forget it..it is a good thing.. shows that you can make a mistake, learn from that mistake and move on... it is a good ice breaker during an interview for the interviewers.. just don't whine and make excuses

Pink Slip

Thanks for all the positive replies. I wasn't sure what the consensus would be, especially after being given the scared straight act, from my chief pilot.

Best of luck to everyone!
