push for European Dispatchers?

One of my coworkers who follows aviation news on a daily basis was telling me he heard there is a current push to get European airlines like British Airways to have dispatchers after multiple undesirable situations have been happening. Does anyone continue to follow this story or know what the status of that push is? I'd be down to live in London!

That would be awesome, but I don't think the EU has a dispatcher ticket.

I can't imagine working with Eurocontrol ALLLLLLLL Day. They make even the worst ATC problem here in the states a breeze.
