Does anyone know how long it usually takes from when you submit a resume to when you get the phone call or rejection letter,or any info about the status of your paperwork?

I emailed them and didnt meet the total time of 1500. I got an email the next day which said thanks tell us when you get 1500. Very quick nice of them to respond so quick even though i was rejected

They will send you a formal packet with the application on the mail after they recieve your resume. If they plan on calling you, they will send you this.

In other words, if you get mail from them, it's a good thing.

They sent me an email with an attachemnt which i had to fill out and send back. That was about three weeks ago and still no word yet. Anyone else get this email

You don't have to have your ATP or written done to get hired, but have 2 years after employment to complete your ATP written.

CRJ sim for the 200 is in Charlotte, NC and they are using the 700 sims in YUL, and DEN. THere might be a few more, but not sure.

Thanks for the reply...I actually meant to ask what kind of sim is being used for the interview. I heard they were still using an old sim, but not sure what kind it is.

Just curious, what is likely to happen to PSA with an AWA/USAirways merger? Since it is wholly owned, I guess not much would happen unless certain hubs were closed... Any guesses?

Why would you want to leave your Global Express gig may I ask?

They were using an old 737 sim for the interviews, and I think they still are.

As far as the merger goes, I'm willing to bet that PSA along with PDT will be merged in Air Wisconsin's senority list and then operate as a wholly owned company of the parent company thus releiving the need for contract carriers for most of the operation.

Just my 2 cent's and haven't heard otherwise.

That would really suck!

Dumb. I hope you don't bet too much.

So if Air Whiskey will replace the Mesa flying, and PSA and PDT will keep soldiering on, and they are all merged together in some fashion, US/AWA will dump the contract feed? That's an unlikely amount of growth for the resulting "mega-WO", considering all the contract feed US has now. And we all know how the current (but perhaps soon to be former, so I might be full of it) Airways style favors lots of little express carriers.

Despite the fact that the current WO's are locked in until 2009 (if I recall), I don't see any large express consolidation happening. PSA, PDT, and AWAC will continue on as is, separate and independant, tempted by lures of growth, jossling each other for flying.

Go ahead and defend your turf, it's just my 2 cents.

I just interviewed there, and here's what they told us. They are hiring 8 pilots a month, strictly to cover attrition. There is talk of more planes, but only when USAir exits bankruptcy (latest timeframe on that, stated as September). As far as the AWA/USAir merger, everybody at the interview was nervous, especially with AWAC moving over to USAir. There were a lot of unknowns, and nobody seemed to know any timeframes on answers.

As a personal observation, if the AWA/USAir merger goes thru, they won't need as many feeders. I don't know who would be the ones to go, but with AWAC and Republic putting money in, I would bet it won't be them. Could it be PSA, PDT or Mesa? Good question. Personally, I would bet that PSA and PDT would either be absorbed into someone else, or simply disappear, only because they are smaller than the others.

But, it's all speculation at this point anyway.

A. Airways is not going to take CHQ's money now...look at who is on the list of money providers...Air Wisconsin is listed, not CHQ anymore.

B. It has already been reported that Mesa is going to be replaced by Air Wisconsin so we know that they are out.

C. Trans States will probably be the next to go since you have not heard anything from them.

D. No one knows exactly so if you want the job and are offered it, take it.

I think there are alot of misconceptions out there about the whole US/Republic thing. I don't understand exactly what the deal is, but I do understand that whatever deal was worked out, is meant to be implemented post-chapter 11, where the Air Wisconsin money is intended to aid in emerging. I'm not sure if I have that exactly right though. Either way, I think that CHQ/Republic will have a part to play in the surviving company. At least I hope so, as a current CHQ worker bee, but not at the expense of anyone on the CEL (as a former WO'd employee) as part of some MDA/Republic deal.

That's true on the US side, but if there is a merger of AWA/USAir, that may not happen. I know Mesa does a lot for AWA, and I guess it would depend on who is in charge of the merged company.

By the way, PSA did offer me a job, but I turned it down. Too many unknowns.

I would think that if America West management ( since Parker is going to be calling the shots) were wanting to keep Mesa, then they would have done so on both the US side and America West side. Why would you just cut one division and not all as a whole? I guess we will see.

Good luck finding a company that does not have too many unknowns in this day and age.

I don't mind some unknowns, there is no way around that. But, only hiring 8 a month, maybe getting planes or maybe not, it gets down to things like: how long is reserve?(too long), how long is upgrade?(too long), what is the future of both PSA and USAir?(who knows). Plus, looking at being on reserve, in DAY, it just was not appealing. I'd rather go to ASA or SkyWest with all the hiring both those places are doing, at least until I get recalled.

I don't know where you got your info about sitting reserve, but guys that finished training in Feb are already holding lines.

They pay you full guarantee from day 1 and put you up in a hotel, single occupancy. That's better than many other regionals.

Should be interesting...

AWA's Doug Parker will run the show from Tempe, AZ and AWA will get six seats on the board, four for US Airways, and one for each of the other 3 or 4 investors - including AWAC.

AWA and Mesa have a good relationship and AWA loves our 900s, but is not so crazy about the 200s.

We, of course, are hoping that this means more opportunities for Mesa to fly 900s or 700s in other parts of the country. But if not, then maybe another regional will have that chance.

We are optimistic about our chances.
