I heard that PSA put interviewing on hold for now...until they figure exactly how many pilots and when they will need them. Also I heard that the first CRJ class is in progress full of instructors, check airmen, etc and that Jet #1 arrives in October with the first revenue flight in November.
And that they will be hiring again before the end of the year...
The first group of instructors, et al, have all passed the type ride in the CRJ-200LR. The first training class for PSA pilots and J4J new-hires will be September 22.
Due to Bombardier's holiday schedule in December, we will have one class a week starting Sept 22nd with anywhere from 8 to 10 guys per class. Hiring is on hold as of right now but our HR guru said it should pick back up to keep the Dornier staffed while the line guys are in class for the CRJ. 2 Dorniers go away in Sept followed by 2 each month thereafter untill they are all gone.
We have two classes running now in YUL for the CRJ filled with instructors and one FAA person.
Classes will not necessairly be filled by a 50/50 mix of PSA pilots and j4j perticipant's. This is due to staffing levels. All pilots bypassed will recieve bypass pay if this happens to you.
In regards to ALG and PDT. Mainly all of the future staffing needs for PSA will come from ALG and PDT depending on what happens over at thier respective property's. I don't have any specific details on this simply becasue nobody knows what is going to happen with ALG and PDT.
