Hello.
Got called for an interview with PSA.
Just wondering from those who have gone through this process...

1. When will they send the package and arrangements for travel?

2. What paperwork do they ask you to bring along?

3. Any "driving records" on their list of bring alongs?

4. How long since you interviewed were you called fro class?

Appreciate any information you might provide.

Take care.

PSA Interview Stuff

Your packet will probably arrive the day after you were called. They sent it via fedex to me.

You'll need, Medical (current), pilot certificates, passport, FCC Radio license, driving record, transcripts from HS/College.

I interviewed on a Tuesday and was called the following Monday for class to start in 2 weeks. Things are changing rapidly though with the Chapter 11, there's no telling what is going to happen.

Be prepared for the 737 sim.

Didn't GE just pull all the financing for the regional jets?

I am suprised PSA is still interviewing, can anyone update on the situation?

I interviewed on August 26th. 7 of us completed the interview process. I know that 2 of those received the thanks but no thanks letter within 2 weeks. The rest of us haven't heard anything and it's been 3 weeks yesterday. I'm a little concerned, ok a lot concerned that we haven't heard anything. Some say that no news is good news, but It's hard to be an optimist in this business.

The interview....

Was an 8.5 hour process for me. The written was easy, ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO FAIL IT! Interview was 3 on one. 737 sim wasn't too bad, but then again I went last for everything that day so I was exhausted. I sat 3.5 hours b/w the written and my interview and 3.0 hours for the sim. Just be well rested and patient. Do remember to make front and back copies of your certificates. Go to aviationinterviews.com and you'll have everything you need to know.

CRJ Deliveries

Smoking Man,
Thanks for that link. My interpretation of that article was that Bombardier is going to be delivering the same amount of CRJs as they planned, not necessarily to PSA.

To the guys waiting to hear about interviews. There isn't another indoc class scheduled until late October. The training department is a little behind right now and you guys are probably not at the top of the list yet. Don't sweat it yet but you may consider calling around the end of the month to see where things stand.

According to the bombardier news release and everyting I can find the we are still going to get the rest of the RJ's we were scheduled to get for the rest of the physical year, after that ?????

GECAS suspended the rest of the orders. This is my understanding, of current events.

Interview in Question...

I was called for a dispatch interview last week, I explained when he called that I was currently evacuated from Florida due to Francis,, he was very understanding and told me to call him this week to arange the interview....I have called and left VM twice but there has been no return calls this time...I dont know if the USAir thing has affected their hiring plans for dispatch or not.

Anyone with information please pass it on if you know. Thanks

The HR people don't usually answer the phone during the week and only return calls on Fridays (sometimes). I think they were still doing interviews this week in CLT for pilots.....

I spoke to the training department this morning and they stated that all of the Dornier guys still left will go to class a scheduled. (see you Monday Smoking man). They were suppose to wet lease some sim time in IAD at CAE's sim, but that has been cancelled so all of us will more than likely be going to YUL for sim and possibly system's as well.

They are also going to cancel the new hire classes untill things are more certain regarding exactly how many airplanes we are going to take this year. With the cancellation of 2 more CRJ-701's that were to be delivered this week, things are going to slow down, however it does get the training department more time to get caught up.

If your waiting for a class date, I would call HR and find out the specific scoop.

As of right now, Airways has 45 jets on order, but 20 are going to get sold to other carriers which would leave us with 65. If your the bottom 150 guys on the property, I would be a little concerned.

GECAS has suspended further financing, not yanked it. Subject to change.

Hmmm.

Well... I am not very surprised then after reading all your replies.
I recieved the call last week and I have gotten "nada" in the mail, nor Fedex.
I'll call them Monday to see.

In another note, I had passed an Eagle interview a short time ago, but today I got Fedexed some results saying that I did no pass their medical neurpsycological test... Well, I am down... but not destroyed yet. Such is life, and I am still breathing. God is good.

PSA Furloughs

Just confirming PSA furloughs. My letter came via fedex yesterday. No indication of future hopes and aspirations. I had just finished indoc and was "off" until Nov. 6 which sounded very fishy to begin with. I am a little ticked though that the CPs came into our indoc class and told everyone that "with the aircraft on property right now, we need every one of you". That was a bit of a stretch.

I think I'll be looking for another job... anyone got the number to that truck driving school?

Interview cancelled

Ok,
Confirming my suspicions, I got a call today from PSA. Interviews are posponed until further notice. I was scheduled for the 29th of this month. I guess I will be making captain upgrade at my current job here very soon, so I will plan on accepting it.

Hopefully this furloughing wont go for long.

328 Dude,
Indoc and systems for almost all remaining dornier pilots will be in Dayton. about 2 out of every 10 guys will do systems in Montreal. Some of you will go to charlotte for the sim, some to Dulles and some to Montreal. PM me if you have any questions.

I don't think that they are going to use Dullus anymore.

Got my tentative shedule today and have both system's and sim in YUL... Yummmmm.

Oh well. "Get er done" I guess.

More furloughs to come and a crap load of downgrades as well since the orders stopped. We shall see.

Psa?

I have a friend who according to his wife just did a sim eval in CLT for PSA.

Are they still continuing the process for new hires? He has 4 kids. Should I tell him to go to med school or to the drugstore for some condoms?

Add KY to the list..

Both!

Climbhappy,
I would suggests both! PSA has already furloughed and the rumors are that more furloughs are possible if they don't get more jets. Financing for the jet orders fell through when Airways filed Chapter 11. It's going to be a bumpy road at PSA for a while.
