Any PSA Pilot...please respond or message me ASAP...

I have been offered a 9-24-03 class date. I need some info about the company....

Is there a training contract?

What are schedules like? How many days off for reserve pilots?

Is there a min monthly guarantee?

and a host of other questions.....

I have to make my decision by tomorrow....any help would be appreciated..

Thanks....

1. No

2. Like any other airline, some good some bad. For the past year or so I've held 4 on with 3 to 4 off.

3. Min 10 days off for reserve.

4. Yes, 72hours for reserve or build up and 75 hours for line a holder.

Let me know what else you wanna know, I'll be up most of the night.

So, RuHiring, did you accept the position?

If so, will you be trained in the D328 or the CRJ? Also, do all USAirways furloughees start in the right seat? Lastly, were you offered positions at any of the other regionals (what about MidAtlantic)?

Cheers

I have until tomorrow afternoon to accept/decline the position.

It will be for the CRJ....FO.

The U guys start in both seats....50% captain, 50% FO depending upon U seniority and who passes/accepts the offer. I was offered a position at Midway several months ago....I declined. I also didn't even submit a preference for MESA....no explanation necessary.

I could wait around for MidAtlantic, but I'm afraid the wait will be too long. MidAtlantic isn't expected to start training until November and I am certainly too far down the list to be called anytime soon.

That EMB-170 looks like a mini-Airbus and it has Space-Shuttle like avionics. I am not surprised that a number of furloughees would be interested in it... But hey, I agree that flying a CRJ for PSA would be great too.

Good luck.

Doesn't PSA have a better contract than Eagle? Why all the hype for MidAtlantic?

Ego, Pure Ego. Any positions at MDA that are not filled with a Furloughed Mainline Pilot come to us at the WO. It would kill them if we were flying the bigger equipment and they were on a 50 seater that had the words Express on them. Even though they would make more at the WO's than at MDA. Funny is'nt it?

To be fair though, PSA does not have pay rates for anything larger than 50 seats. At least none that have been made public. So you would only be able to assume that those would be higher than the Eagle contract as well.
