Any PSA people out there? I have a couple of questions.

What's happening with hiring at PSA?

As I understand it, they're supposed to hire furloughs from USAirways mainline first, and then they'll start hiring off the street again. It looks like they hired some pilots off the street about a year ago, and had some interviews back in July.

Are any furloughed mainline pilots coming to PSA? Lots? Just a few? Does anybody know?

Any chance of getting an interview soon? I'd really like to get on at PSA, but I don't want to exercise my network contacts needlessly.

And what's happening with getting jets?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Currently there is no off the street hiring going on here at PSA.

After speaking with our chief pilot (a furloughed mainline guy himself) it sounds like there will be no problem finding enough mainline people to fill the Captain and FO seats on the CRJ.

Unless something changes soon there will probably be no hiring here for the next two years except for attrition (sp?). Additionally, if we do hire it looks like prefrence will be given to furloughed ALG and PDT pilots (and rightly so).

Theres always a chance that you will get hired off the street but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Peace!

Thanks

Not what I was hoping to hear, but thanks for the info, anyway.

Enjoy!

hey pro_geek, i interviewed on the 15th of july and i'm swimming in the pool....if you look back a few posts you can find some more info..... the last 328 class was on june 30th. i think they started the first CRJ classes this week and they are going to run them about every 2 weeks till january. half the pilots in each class will be 328 guys and the other half are mainline J4J's guys. from what i hear they are finding mainline guys to fill the classes. i think the only way i get in before 2005 is if they pull guys off the 328 to train them on the jet, there might be a shortage on the prop. otherwise i don't see it happening for a while. someone else can back me up on this, but i think the first CRJ will be ready to fly in november, and they are going to park a 328 for every jet they get. so unless J4j's guys don't want to come to PSA, then it might be a long time before people off the street get there chance, hope i answered your questions, good luck
