PSA hiring direct entry captains?

I saw the direct captain thing on one of the job fair flyers. Is that true? Is it true that there are only 480 pilots for 49 airlines, is PSA going through an expansion? Any training contract to sign? Thanks in advance.

No direct captains here. No expansion. And no training contract.

There are still F/Os available to upgrade. I was told no expansion by our VP of Ops last month.

But who knows, anything can change overnight, and the crews are the last to know whats going on.

I think the survey they ran a few months ago showed that out of all the FOs, only 10 or so of them wouldn't have 1500 hours when they were "projected" to upgrade. There have been some rumors that we've stopped hiring and pooled the next few classes, but there hasn't been an official word. They ARE still running upgrade classes though.

The next three new hire classes cancelled and all new hires placed in hiring pool. This is because they do not have enough resources to train these people until they get caught up with upgrades and initials. This was directly from our vice president of operations in upgrade ground school.

I bet that guy in your avatar can drop a pretty good sized duece into a v-file!

Which makes it about 99% not believable.
