Got an interview this Wed. 7/21 in Ft. Lauderdale! Super Excited!

Just wanted updated answers to the following questions. Did a search, but it seems these answers are sporadic in the search.

1. Junior Base? Dayton?
2. Current upgrade time?
3. Is it a definite PSA is getting the CRJ-700's or not? If so, how many? 25?
4. How long is reserve, and how many days off during reserve?

Thanks in advance!!!

JR

JR,

Good luck with the interview. I am not the most knowledgeable person but let me give you my best guess answers to your questions. You have seen sporadic replies to these questions because things keep changing. As of now a lot of new people get assigned DAY and then some people get reassigned to PHL or Knoxville not long after if they bid that as a higher preference but not everybody. It seems most get DAY. The other domiciles seem to be growing and adding more lines as more planes come.

Reserve? What's reserve? There is a wait for IOE right now though. With the current shortage I'm told there is almost nobody sitting on reserve.

No Guarantees on the 701's. There are 4 of them right now and 26 200s I think and depending upon what happens over the next month there may be a lot more than 25 701's coming (as many as 50) or maybe none will come and the 4 we have will go away. WHo knows.

Upgrade times are always faster when a company is expanding but that can change. Don't have a good answer for you there other then my own speculation.

Hey Weasil,

Thanks for your reply! I like the fact there isn't reserve and the quick upgrade time potentially if all goes as planned. Dayton is actually the base I would prefer, since I plan on moving back home to the Cincy area. I won't have to commute (fly anyways) to work.

I have heard great things about the people that work there!

How many pilots are currently there and how many do they plan on hiring?

Are the other 50 700's options at this point? This is the first I heard past the original 25 or so.

Thanks again!

JR

Is PSA still offering jobs on the spot at the interviews?

I know they were offering jobs on the spot about two weeks ago, but with no set class date.

Have things started to change because of the increase in hiring?
Thanks for the replys!

What does PSA pay 1st - 3rd yr FO's?

What does a 7th yr CA make as well?

Just curious if any of the folks who have interviews, or did interview recently could say how long the wait was to get a call after sending Ken their resume? Thanks, and good luck to all who are trying to make their way into PSA.

I was called within one week of submitting my resume. The interview was really laid back and, yes, I was offered a job on the spot. It seems that if they are really hot after you (previous 121/fractional experience) they make an offer immediately and if they aren't so sure, or aren't really interested, they give you some line about being in touch within a week, or two. They ask you not to say anything to the other interviewees about the offer, so no one gets their feelings hurt.

Not all true. With the last group of Dorniers parking on Sept the 1st, PSA will have quite a few crews getting paid to sit at home. So the Dornier crews will be going threw training before anymore new hires are taken off the street. Regardless of your experience, mgt will not pay 80 or so pilots to sit around, to get a new hire in class. So it may be a little before any big hiring off the street goes on.

Do you guys have any kind of commuter clause? That is the main thing that makes my current job difficult.

Actually the current order is 37 200s and 48 701s with tentative plans to have the last 5 701s be 705's. at 5 crews per airplane that works out to roughly 850 pilots. I think we're getting close to 600 now. Sounds like Phillie and Charlotte are going to be the biggest bases when everything's finished.

Stick man... was there a question in there somewhere? You're a little ambiguous.

So I'll ask again, so as to "not be ambiguous" - What are PSA's pay rates?
Are they are the net? Can they be posted? Link to a PDF?
If I jump ship to a sinking ship, I wanna know what I'll be paid.

Weasil,

Thanks for the correction on the jets. They told us 25 701's on Wed. Also CP's told us you guys have roughly 450 pilots on property now and looking to be at 850 like you said. Upgrade 12-18 mos.

Either way, I am excited about joining PSA.

For the person who asked if they hire on the spot; they don't anymore. They told us on Wed. we were the first group to get the 10 days answer. They said 60 pilots out of training were waiting on IOE and with the Dornier guys needing to transition, they don't necessarily need to hire on the spot.

They did state they still need 25 pilots a week, but the sim can't handle all of them so they are short staffed.

Great experience and I am hoping for the call!

Cheers!

JR
