I'm about to start training on the Falcon 2000 and I have been looking for a FMS trainer. I saw that Aerosim has one that sells for about $1000 which is slightly over my budget.

Does anyone have the Aerosim trainer that they want to sell, or do you know of any other similar programs?

(I have managed to get the manuals in pdf)

Thanks,

CL

I'd just call Collins, they have some programs that will be of some help. Also, check with your training provider - they may have copies of those same programs.

I would check with the publications people at Collins and see if they would be willing to send you a copy. It's a pain to install and to use - they have it copy protected and you have to enter a unique authorization unlock code that they give you after you've installed the program on your hard drive. Then your copy is activated for just a week or two. It wouldn't been so bad if it was a good program, but it isn't. I found it to be of limited use.

Personally, I wouldn't sweat either the Proline IV or the Collins FMS. The Proline IV is pretty intuitive and so is the 6100 - in its own perverse sort of way... I come from a Universal and Global background and the 6100 is sifferent from either of those two. But its differences are in a good way.

The advice that I give you is the same that I give anyone going for a type - spend your time prior to going to school studying the limitations and memory action items. If you have those down cold before you go there willl be plenty of time to learn the systems and "other stuff" while you're at school.

I used to have a copy of the collins fms (almost certain from either the 6000 or 6100) from my old CRJ days.

Oops.......

I would be willing to bet if you asked for one on the regionals board, you would get an overwhelming response. I know that just about everyone in my init. got a copy to use on thier laptop during training. Hope this helps, sorry that mine is MIA.... I would have certainly given it to you!
