Anyone know how different these two salary sources differ? I have the Pro Pilot survey but can't find where my CP hides the NBAA one!
We have two sometimes three airplanes(don't ask!) and only four pilots now. We lost one of our PIC's to a regional and our CP says he has no plans to hire anyone to replace him! We have come close to flying almost double what we have been in the past years and the QOL is going down hill fast. We are a PT 91 operator but have eight owners who fly our Hawker 700/King Air 300 and the pop-ups/last minute additons are becoming more frequent and to top it off i'm on a salary freeze this year and so is the other PIC.
I'm PIC in both airplanes and am looking for the NBAA numbers so I have something to go by to see where I stand.

Thanks

3 airplanes

8 owners

3 pilots

pop-ups are frequent.

you dont need to know NBAA pay, you need to concentrate on finding a new job.
Thats insane.

Post the area you live in, maybe we can shoot you some PMs about job possibilities.

You want the NBAA numbers. They are more realistic and representative of salaries.

Pro Pilot is just basically the responses of guys that fill out the survey and return it. Not everyone subscribes (not a very good publication, as it tends to show operators in a better light than they are) and not everyone that subscribes returns the survey. Your getting a smaller population sample with pro Pilot numbers.

NBAA is more of a benchmark.

And, ditto what G200 said...

Yeah I will start looking harder thats for sure!! I am based 'in da hood' DET (Detroit city) no hazard pay yet either!
We have four pilots but only three of us are PIC in the a/c.

I'm just trying to figure out why anyone would go from a PIC corporate job (assuming anywhere near NBAA numbers for those aircraft about $60k to $80k) to a REGIONAL??!!

Especially with what is going on in the airline biz, no one hiring (except SWA) that tops out over $120k, several YEARS to upgrade, 20K to $30k per year until they do, and then only $55k to $70k max, 10-12 days off for the bottom half of the Captain seniority list...

If the QOL there sucks, I'd try moving to a new corp job before I'd go to a regional; the QOL isn't much better at the regionals - lots of regional guys with charter and corporate experience are bailing (myself included) back to the corp and charter world!
