SkyWest is currently in negotiations with two companies to provide us with PBS scheduling software and was wondering if any of you guys out there work at companies with one of these systems.

The debate now exists with taking on AD-OPT's software or being the launch customer for some other new company. Anyone have any experience with the advantages/disadvantages of a PBS system?

As if works now it seems all the lines we can chose from have little variation other than total days off, particular days off, AM vs. PM, or which system you fly in (i.e. LAX or SFO). The proponents of PBS say it will allow for greater tailoring of lines to specific tastes, particularly for those with mid to high seniority. The company wants it because it can potentially save a ton of money on crew scedulers haveing to work through a transition period matching up the lines from one month to the next. Opponent cite lack of "continuity" (not flying with the same crew for a month at a time), etc.

Any comments? Good or bad experiences?

Thanks.

Comair is supposed to be rolling out the Ad-Opt version sometime soon. What we have now is something that looks akin to the 300 baud terminal I used to have as a McDonnell Douglas intern back in '83!

You guys have hard lines? I, for one, am glad to fly with different crews each pairing. I like the variety!
