Saw a post on the Major's board and thought it could be brought up here.
Word out of Tempe is that Dougie is getting merger-itis again and there is much speculation. Lots of people point to AA, but there might also be others, plus Doug has stated US can remain on its own. However it seems like Dougie wants to helm an airline with a lot more planes.

Overall I can see why merging with AA would be bad, mainly incompatible fleets and they would probably eliminate US western presence by shuttering the PHX hub.

Dispatch specific, if that did happen where do you think SOC would be located. I personally hope it would stay at DFW with a centralized location, excellent quality of life and having non stop service most of the free world. PIT couldn't hold a candle to it. What do you think?

If thAAt hAAppens, I would see AA as the surviving cAArrier, "fo sho". I sincerely doubt that they would leAAve DFW.

That would explain why the hiring at US has been stalled I guess.

Meanwhile back on planet earth the midwest is expected to see wide spread thunderstorms today and flooding through out the Miss. delta.

I think that Dougie needs to get his own house in order before he wants to start )(*%)$*)^&%-ing with other airlines...

True, there is alot that needs to be ironed out there. Delta saw how disaterous LCC was and made an all out assult to keep them away. It worked too.
