big dog1 said:Anybody hearing anything about Coporate Airlines and Air Midwest (Mesa). Plenty of rumors flying around over here.
Any info appreciated.....
I would never stir anything up.AV80R said:I assume you r just stirring things up, right? It’s not like 3C’ers need any more bad news…
"Mesa Air Group buys Corporate Airlines. All employees are asked to take a pay cut and agree to changes in work rules. Ornstein says if employees don't sign, 3C will be dissolved. Ornstein also offers CRJ's to 3c in exchange for even lower pay scales, and less restrictive work rules. $23/hr for jet CA's, $14 for FO's. 6 days off/month. $0.75 per hour per diem."

Homey, I couldn't agree with you more. Maybe Corpex is plotting to buy AMR and make mainline "Corpex Connection"...but somehow, I doubt itUnfortunately, I think you are right but I wish they had SOMETHING or just ANYTHING positive to look forward to. They all deserve it...
It really is quite shameful. Everyone below the DO is a great person. Great to work with and with the best of intentions. It's too bad that are held hostage by an upper management team that won't let them do anything. Even the DO is a decent guy to have a beer with. Too bad he's a hypocrite and has little backbone when it come's to his job.AV80R said:“…Maybe Corpex is plotting to buy AMR and make mainline "Corpex Connection...”
- Yeah right. St. Louis, MO – London, UK in a J32 lol. Heck, with air refueling and the new GPS’s y’all getting – ANYTHING is possible right?![]()
“Best group of (criminally underpaid) guy and gal pilots and station employees I've ever met....or been apart of.”
- I see what you are saying and I agree with most of it but I’m not sure about the “criminally underpaid” part. The truth is I and you and everyone else knew exactly how much (little ) we were going to make. We were just hoping to move on to bigger planes sooner than we did. Of course 9/11 sort of changed our (and many, many, many others’) plans.
- We tried to ask for more money in the past and got a meager 7.3% increase (2001 I think?) I still have that sabre memo somewhere. Anyways, at least we tried and got something…
- That’s why I am so happy to hear that people like JS and others are trying this approach again (“monday meeting”) It might work, it might not, at least they are trying. …and I truly respect that.
“…burn the place down… Lord knows the people in MQY have ridden on the employee's backs the last few years.”
- Nah, c’mon now, there are many good people in mqy too, don’t forget b2, many great schedulers, dispatchers, etc. Even the “bad” guys are just trying to do their part – make as much money for the investors as they can. Capitalism at work, right? (Hi Fred! )
I’m not saying I agree with the low pay rates – I DON’T! …but someone told me a long time ago: “Whining is like a rocking chair. It’ll keep you busy, but it ain’t gonna get you nowhere!”
So support JS and others and keep asking for more dough or better schedules, or something. Hopefully it’ll work; if not vote with your feet and I think they’ll listen then because they’ll have to.
Good luck to all of you, I really mean it! …and I’ll keep trying to help out more of y’all to join us here.

I understand that J.O. maybe looking for something to feed in case US Airways continues to shrink. All those airplanes and no mainline to feed would be a lot of lost revenue and under utilized capital for the MESA group.10early? said:I hate to get back on the subject, but a MX guy told me that one of our FED inspectors asked how the "merger" was going. Upon further pressure, he said he had been told about a 3C and Air Midwest thing..... no details. There are things going on at MQY, though, a company name change, buying a new dispatch system, rumors of a new maintenance base........ it's very intriguing. Any fuel for the fire, guys?
It is most likey the types you would see lined up in MMUN (CUN). Trash-hauler types. Something with legs to go from the East coast to the West.10early? said:Who will JO feed if they merge with 3C? Unless Chatauqua gets it's 170's, pulls out from their AA agreement, and leaves that flying wide open. Which is feasible, seeing as how I don't think the ERJ market out of STL is worth losing bigger jets over. AA treats its codeshare 'partners' like doggie doo, and I wouldn't blame CHQ for bailing. But even then, what will JO do with 12 J32's besides replace them with 1900's? The scope clause has 3C limited to what it's flying now, which isn't much. And excess capacity or no, I wouldn't sell my soul to AA for anything (Heather Locklear excepted). Any ideas, or clarification?
