I went up yesterday to practice slow flight, power on/off stalls, and a few touch and gos with my instructor.

During debrief, he stated that I wasn't using the rudder often enough to keep the ball in the center, and that the plane was uncoordinated too much.

Now, I realize what I need to do to fix this problem - use the rudder more often. 'Duh', right?

Well, here's the thing - I noticed that while being bounced all over the place and the plane yawing back and forth like mad due to gusty winds, it seems impossible to keep the ball centered, even in straight and level flight at 100 knots. Do I need to be concerned with this? Or do you think was he was just talking about the slow flight maneuvers?

Don't try to keep the ball centered when it moves due to turbulence, you'll find that trying just makes it worse. Your instructor should be referring to where the ball rests when it's not affected by turbulence, or the average location. If it's bouncing back and forth due to turbulence, but always on the right side of center, then you need some more rudder to make it swing around the center.
