Heated windscreens play havoc with them, and you must tilt your head in funny ways to read FMS displays. So, if it's sunlight you are seeking to block, a pair of foggles might serve as well.
i use 2 different polarized glasses when flying oakleys and ray bans(not the big dorky aviator style)
while there are some occasional chromatic effects with the windscreen because of the heater, its never been that big of an issue (at least in any of the birds i've flown) well worth the added protection over regular lenses imho
