I assume it does but I am not really sure. Anybody know? The reason I ask is that my operations manual says no blood donations within 72 hours of flying and another pilot asked if that included plasma donation. I said "I think so"
I really didnt know.

I don't think it is the same as blood donation, because they separate your blood, then give you your corpuscles (red blood cells) back. Those are the ones that affect your ability to carry and process oxygen. You basically are donating the fluid they travel in, but not the red blood cells.

For those of you that have given plasma or blood recently, is there still a question on the form that you have to fill out, that asks if you've lived in the U.K for over 6 months prior to 1994?

Thanks

I sure as hell hope so.

Yeah, I knew that was the reason it was on there, I was just wondering in the 8 years that I've been unable to donate blood, if there had been any changes in to the questionaire due to any new information regarding BSE.

(And I noticed my post count too! :) )
