With the current shape of this industry present day, amount of furloughed pilots on the streets, lack of jobs, etc, etc, I was just curious to hear about pilots who are currently employed and want to move on elsewhere to greener pastures. Any opinions and the steps you are taking to "attempt" to obtain employment at another location or level?. Or are you happy enough to stay put and wait until the industry get better.??-

Does seem like there is some movement whether it be on the 91, 135, or 121 side of the fence.

any feelings, opinions, etc pertaining to "your" current situation and your "future" plans in this great industry.???

out of curiousity,

I'll continue to work full-time while being a CFI on the weekends and at night. Allows me to put money away for retirement, buying a house, and help make the full-time to flying transition easier, as well as building experience and contacts in two different industries. A big plus. With the market and economy what it is, I'd expect a pick-up by 2004 or so with the hiring at the airlines picking up by 2007 with retirements being a part of the push. Just my plans, thoughts and possibly worthless $.02 :D

Personally, I'm not going to discount any flying option (except scab). Banners, freight, bush, whatever. As long as I'm flying and progressing.

I'll continue to fly this Replacement Jet till APA takes them away and I get displaced back to an airplane with propellers. Then I may get a second job at McDonalds.
