Just wondering if anybody around here works for Planemasters out of West Chicago (base doesn't matter)? I heard something the other day that I know can't be true, but I thought I would ask. I heard that Planemaster pilots pay for their own annual training on the Caravan. Not just initial, but recurrent too. Tell me that is not true!!!

I used to work there about 3 years ago. At the time, no one had to pay a dime to work there, and I don't think it's changed. It was a good company to work for, and I enjoyed my time there. I'm still in touch with a guy who still flies there, and he hasn't mentioned ever have to pay for any kind of training. ;)

I used to talk to their guys every night at SDF, they never mentioned paying for anything. Nice guys as far as I remember.

You don't have to pay for training, but I think you may have to pay for your room/meals and they reimburse you. I have a good friend who works for them-- I think that's what he told me--

That's correct, during training you pay for your own stuff, and then they reimburse after you've passed the checkride.

While I was there, training was done in-house, right from the Flight Safety book, and will an excellent Power Point presentation with detailed pics of the Caravan. I felt really comfortable in the plane after I'd been through training.
