I mean how does this stuff make the news. A little turbulence? It states no one was injured and the pilot went missed during a storm. Ok??? so whats the story here. I'm sure this happens quite often on a day to day basis during thunderstorms. Seems like the only press on aviation is bad press these days. Anyone feel the same way.

This is my favorite part.

Some passengers were thrown from their seats by turbulence as lightning crackled around the storm-tossed plane, USC sports information director Tim Tessalone told The Associated Press on Friday. Safety Taylor Mays was screaming.

Poor guy will probably never hear the end of that one.

This is my favorite part.

Mine is the comments by the brilliant general public.

They had no business flying in a thunderstorm. That's whe`re you often find wind shear and extreme turbulence. They should have gone around the storm or try to land somewhere else.

We have a very sophisticated Weather Bureau that tells us when and where to expect bad weather. Why did they defy these reports and fly anyway. The report said this was the pilots first landing, not that that had anything to do with the weather, but knowing the weather report, you would think these kids would have had an experienced pilot. why didn't they delay the flight???????

and especially this one...

Who cares. The whole damn team coiuld've went down and I would have lost not a seconds sleep....
Go Irish!(?)

If they were coming in to land, then my thinking is that the seat belt sign should have been on. If the players had adhered to this , no one would have been tossed out of their seats.

Must have been flying in SEC airspace, alot rougher than most other conference's airspace.

Hoser
Roll Tide!

If you want to learn to read, go to Stanford; if you want to win at football, go to USC...oh, wait....

While we're at it, shouldn't someone explain to the SC players that dating a male cheerleader really isn't the same thing?

You guys need to stop hating on the Trojans..we got the best damn football program in the whole NCAA!!!

Went to the game today. Eeeesh! Maybe the Irish should've been on that plane and been shooken up. It was actually embarrasing!

As a private pilot I feel that with all the colleges taking charterd flights, it's a risk everytime they fly.

we better listen to this 50 hr wonder pilot. we all know that chartering a flight is a down right hazard to everyones safety.

Last I checked OSU has the #1 next to there name. Keep telling yourself their the best but I think Stanford will beg to differ.

Idiots with ego's keep flying into storms...When will we learn? Slam away...but someone will get hurt or killed if pilots keep flying like they can do anything. They already have! and they will again if pilots keep doing this. I hope my family is not on there plane when it happens.

Fly safe..

If this was last Thursday night, man it was crazy. I was near the line of storms, radar painting magenta all over. Reports of 3 or 4 tornadoes came from that line that passed through. In October!
