We have a piper lineage poster in the FBO, and I noticed something called the Piper Pocono (XPA-35). I did a google search and couldn't find much on it. Anyone have any details on what it was and why it didn't work?

The prototype was designed as a piston-engine commuter airliner. I have no idea if it was not developed because of a design deficiencies or a soft market analysis.

Judging from the size of the aircraft, there may not have been a piston engine availiable with an adequate amount of power to do the job.

the Pocono was designed in co-hoots with long gone Pocono Airlines (KAVP) as a PA-31-350 on roids. The fuselage of the prototype is rotting away at the airport in Hazelton, PA.

I don't think it ever flew.
