Looks like the 9E MEC has decided its time to get something moving. Taken from the 9E pilot board.

"Today, your MEC decided that due to the stagnant pace of contract negotiations the time has come to request a proffer of arbitration from the National Mediation Board. Should the NMB decide to accept our request and tender the parties a proffer of arbitration and at least one party did not accept the offer, we would enter a 30-day “cooling off” period. At the end of this period, if a tentative agreement has not been reached, the respective parties may engage in “self-help”. For us, that would mean a strike.

Your MEC has not taken this step lightly, however, we firmly believe that management will not negotiate to a fair agreement lacking this step.

A press release will be released Tuesday morning with more details. "

We should be walking the line sooner rather than later.

Sounds familiar,.......

Seems like ASA did this about 3 yrs before the new contract. I wouldn't expect anything to happen for a long, long time. The NMB is not your friend.

I think you're deeply confused. The NMB doesn't have to be their friend. They just have to not do nothing. How's that for a double negative?

Way to go 9E. Nobody can rightfully accuse your MEC and voting pilot members of not doing everything in their ability to improve your situation. Hang in there. Hopefully you'll be marching soon.

They'll get a few more negotiation dates about 3 months from now. The company will move on about 2-3 minor issues to show positive movement. Other than that, nothing much will change.

Wow-

The NMB has to offer the proffer in order to release them into the 30-day cooling-off period. It is absolutely up to them when and if they EVER do this. Just ask anyone from ASA how long we were in this situation after the NMB was asked for a proffer.

And if this drags out like ASA's it will be great ammunition for ALPA and all Pilots to pressure congress to revamp the RLA.

In the current environment of $100bbl oil, a possible red tail merger in the works, Mesaba up and running again and Compass spooling up...NWA would love nothing better than a strike at 9E. It'll give them a good excuse to park a lot of 50 seaters and shrink 9E into submission. My prediction: NWA will send thier lobbyists to the correct DC offices and the NMB board will release 9E pilots to self help. 9E will strike and when they come back to work 3-4 months later they will be half the size that they currently are and get a miniscule pay raise in the process. The cards are stacked against you guys, I wish reality was different but it isn't. Hopefully the guys/gals are prepared finacially for what is comming.

So they park the 50 seaters, what happens when they put a 76 seater or a Diesel 9 on the route good luck getting an ALPA crew to fly it, "struck work"

the day Pinnacle bought colgan, my gut instinct was that the parent company was divesting it's self... expecting the NWA flying to tank. Why else would they buy into 3 other code shares? Why would they sink money into colgan, but not 9E

I'd bet managment isn't giving, because they just don't care.

Y'all need to start a safety campaign. Feel free to PM me if you need details.

do it legit. Don't be a tool
What the hell does that mean? They need to slow down. They need to stop doing everyone else's job. They need to start writing up airplanes. They need to bring the operation to a standstill. Fu-- Phildo, and fu-- Pinnacle. Get the contract that you guys deserve.
