Pinnacle is not hiring street captains, i believe those days are over here. There is a lot of people with seniority ready to upgrade

Anyone with a heartbeat and ATP mins (written only required) has the opportunity to upgrade on the 1900 assuming you get it assigned as a newhire. The fun part is though you dont know which airplane you got if/when ya get hired @ Mesa.
 
Considering how effective and accurate past staffing models have been, I'll give it a 50% chance of newhire CA's in the next 2 years.

I heard on the employee bus at DTW a couple of PNCL guys saying that the company won't be paying for hotels on highspeeds and you guys have to sleep in the airport or in the airplane...is that garbage true?




Word on the street is 500 in SF340 and 2000 TT and you can be hired as a street captain at Colgan.
 
yeah you're right, we will be sleeping in the airplane/airport on highspeeds...good thing you were able to point out nothin but the FACTS...better be careful though, if your contract gets flushed, you'll be hot bunkin right next to us...as sad as it sounds, our company did propose that in the last contract they gave our MEC (which we didnt even consider)...kinda sucks for all of us right now...

HAHA, yeah I heard that too. It aint true. At least not as of now. And i cant possibly see it happening. Call me naive, but I dont think it will ever come to that. I think the rumor might have started when the company proposed a contract in Dec. it put restrictions on our Day rooms, if we needed one.

I also had a FA ask me if we were going to get all of NW DC-9's because he supposedly heard that through the Mechanics or something. I didnt want to laugh right in his face, I was trying realy hard not to. I just said no, thats not true.

Rumors fly fast and furious. They are only good for one thing, and thats a good laugh. So everybody needs to stop believing everything we hear and trust me, our lives will be a lot more stress free.

Easy Edna...I was repeating what two of your pilots were discussing on the bus.
Yea...the proposed 17% raise for FOs and 5% cut for captains was crap, they are trying to divide you guys and take advantage of your young/inexperienced pilot group. I don't know when your current (expired) contract was signed but I would say it's a safe bet that 80% of your pilot group wasn't at PNCL it was signed. You guys have to ask yourselves; do you want $,QOL or growth...I don't think in NWA world right now that you can have all three. Wish you guys luck in this process; XJ/NWA are getting cornholed right now.
 
yeah it sucks to fly anything redtail in msp right now, except for the Target X's...hopefully we (9e) can get a decent conract under our belts, you guys (xj) can keep the contract you already have, and the Mainline boys (nwa) can figure out a way to keep there jobs as respectable as they once were...it will be a long haul, but look at how much the industry changed in the last 5-6 years...there is always the chance that if we can survive all this BS, then someday we can get back to just worrying about whether or not we can hold weekends off next month...peace
